Yeah. And you can buy a food grinder especially for baby food. I got mine at Meijer, but you don't have that store there....you'd probably be able to find it at some major grocery store or maybe even target...or ebay? Just watch out for food-allergy-type things (corn, corn flour, anything nutty, no honey). And save the meats for 8+ months. Stick with veggies first, then fruits. Squash is super easy to do on your own. Just add a little water. You can throw anything into the blender, too. Bananas, apples, pears, spinach, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, anything...

yeah, i have done a little research about it. it says you can use a blender (which we have). and the doctor and websites said veggies first. the sites said to peel (if needed) then steam then put in blender...there were "recipes" that told if water or breastmilk was needed for any of that. if you are doing just a veggie or just a fruit do you still put water in it? then it says to freeze what you don't use in an ice cube tray and when it's frozen you can put them in baggies and it can be stored for up to a month in the freezer. i haven't started him on cereal yet, so it will be about a month in a half to two before he starts food other than cereal.

how's life treating you anyway?

For his first foods, you will need to add water. It needs to be a very pureed, slightly-thicker-than-water texture. You can gradually reduce the amount of water to his liking and readiness. I would only add breastmilk to his cereal, though...not to veggies and fruit...gross!:) And it can be stored for up to six months if your freezer is set on its coldest setting. Just watch for freezer burn, is all. If you have a deep freeze (or chest freezer...whatever you call it) it will store longer. I don't add water to the stuff I freeze and store, because that way, I can add as little or as much as I need depending on what stage Amberly is at when I pull out a serving at any given time. The squash freezes really well. I have to run warm water over the bottom of the ice cube tray to losen it up enough to get it out, though.
